IMA wants 'derogatory' scene from 'Gabbar is Back' removed

Indian Medical Association wants ban on Gabbar Is Back

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to invoke a ban on Krish’s Gabbar Is Back. Alleging that the film portrays the doctors and the medical profession in a bad light, the IMA wanted the ban as long as the makers of the film delete the derogatory scenes from the film.

The spokespersons of the association alleged that the film provokes the common public against the doctors and the medical profession due to its false portrayal and is even contemplating to send legal notices to the film’s producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, hero Akshay Kumar and the director Krish. A three member delegation will meet the Union Minister Arun Jaitley to request him to initiate the ban on Gabbar Is Back as early as possible.

The association has even appealed to all medical associations across the country to call for a further boycott of all Akshay Kumar’s films until the issue is solved. Well, when the film is into its 11th day run, one wonders what the association bigwigs have been doing all these days about the derogatory scenes. After releasing to thumping collections, Gabbar Is Back has slowed down in its second week and is slowly limping at the box office after netting close to 75 crores.

Deepika Padukone demands justice for Shweta Basu Prasad, speaks openly

New Delhi: Deepika Padukone is the latest celeb to have spoken her heart out on Shweta Basu Prasad issue.
And adding much volume to her genuine thoughts, Deepika urged everyone to support the girl and not extract a ‘scandal’ out of the issue.
The actress who is busy promoting ‘Finding Fanny’ these days said, "Let me put it this way – if that was the only thing she could do to support herself and family and it was the only way she could make money, there’s nothing wrong with that."
Further, elaborating her stance on the whole Shweta Basu Prasad matter, the lady said, "Like a lot of people saying, I think it’s extremely unfair that since we know who she is, why are we not supporting her? Why are we making this a scandal? Instead, now that we know she has these issues, why don’t we step forward and help her? Why do we not talk about the people who hired her to do what she’s doing? I don’t think we should look down on her for it but instead get together and support her."

A few days back, popular TV face and Shweta’s on-screen mother, Sakshi Tanwar opened up on the issue and thoroughly mentioned criticism for barging-into Shweta’s privacy. She also furiously asked to reveal the names of high-profile businessmen who have association with the entire matter.
In an open article, she raised many valid questions. “Why the names and photographs of the businessmen not splashed all over, like the girl's? Why have those men been granted the right to privacy and not the girl? Is she a soft target just because she is an actor and a public figure? Why is our moral police quiet about this? In a country where even the rapists and murderers are given the right to privacy, why has her right been violated? Why this irresponsible insensitive stand against her?” – She wrote.
Director-producer Karan Johar, Vishal Bharadwaj and Hansal Mehta are a few other noted ones who have dared to spoke for Shweta Basu Prasad.
Now since Deepika too feels the nerves of the issue, we applaud her and demand and expect justice for that talented victim of both fate and glamour!
